I just finished reading a book called how i live now by meg rosoff. it's supposedly a YA novel, probably since the narrator is a teen, but I don't know that I'd blithely recommend it to all teens, especially very sensitive teens. it's fairly scary (in a "living in a war-torn country" way rather than a suspenseful or supernatural way) and brutal in spots, but beautifully written, and, I thought, powerful. at the end, I really wanted to know what happens to these characters next, except that I think the point is that nothing really does, except life.
