so we still have no power at our house. I've dragged the laptop down to the library in downtown Kent and am reading email from here. we have been without power for more than 36 hours and I think we are very lucky compared to a lot of folks who lost roofs, houses, cars, andd evena few who lost their lives.

still, it is so cold in our house that Brian and I were both wearing 5 layers of clothes, with gloves, scarves and hats to stay warm inside the house. hence our trip to the library, which is crowded with others who may or may not be in the same situation. it's toasty in here, at least.

I am going to go pick out a few books to read while it's light, and CD's to play when the power returns. since there are some traffic lights working near us, I hope that will be soon.

Five layers of clothes! It must be horribly cold. I hope you get your power back soon.

Yikes! Ours is back up, as of yesterday afternoon. If you feel like driving to Tacoma to stay in a loud, messy house, I have a futon you guys could use.

thank you very much for your very, very kind offer - I didn't get it until this afternoon, and tonight we came home to power, so YAY!!!!!

I was about ready try to crash at someone's house.

last night was one of the less pleasant experiences I've had during a month that has included a bad asthma attack brought out by our school's failure to enforce rules about spraying perfume at school, a collapse in the hallway at school during the class change, and a CAT scan at the ER.

again, thank you, it is very kind of you to offer.

this situation has really brouhgt out a lot of nice people in this area (listening to KOMO and KIRO on the radio it has been all about people offering food, wood, shlter, etc.)

Ouch. I hope you get some power back soon. December without heating isn't much fun.
